Each year IAVM honors an individual, company or entity from a professional, allied organization, venues or academic institution that demonstrates leadership in venue management education, through active student involvement and access to exemplary educational opportunities. The award can also honor an individual who is actively involved in the education and continuous development of the venue management industry.

Venue Excellence Award Overview
The Venue Excellence Award was created to annually recognize each of the four IAVM venue types (convention centers, stadiums, arenas and performing arts centers) which demonstrate excellence in the management and operation of public assembly venues. IAVM takes pride in its members and member venues that excel in providing their communities with a safe and enjoyable space for all types of events and educational opportunities.

2013 Timeline

February 1 - April 15
Applications are submitted, collected and reviewed by HQ.

April 16 - May 15
Applications are reviewed by venue specific committees. Finalists are determined and prepared for the Board of Directors.

July 29
Award winners are announced at the Venue Industry Awards Luncheon during VenueConnect in New Orleans, Louisiana
