Mentor Connector Program
IAVM’s Mentor Connector program was developed by the Diversification Committee to provide IAVM members opportunities to experience meaningful and ongoing interaction with a diverse group of top professionals in the industry. Participation will provide you with insight from experienced and successful venue management professionals, introduce you to a range of career opportunities, establish a broad network of professional business contacts and develop confidence and leadership skills from the interaction with the mentor you will be assigned..
Mentor Connector matches an experienced venue manager who has demonstrated competency in the specific area(s) (Mentor) with an individual who has identified a professional development need (Mentee). Together they create a one-on-one, 12-month program, tailored to improve the skill set of the –mentee and enhance the mentor’s contribution to the industry.

A mentor / mentee match is based on several mutually beneficial criteria: career interest(s), commitment, leadership position, community obligations, time availability, geographic location and personal interests. Each match is carefully tailored to provide a unique and valuable mentoring experience for both participants. Once a mentor / mentee match has been determined, both parties are notified, and personal profiles and contact information are provided to each participant.
A coach—an individual with strong industry experience—is assigned to ensure the program duo stays on its timeline, to act as a resource for industry knowledge, and to provide support as needed.
