Public Assembly Facility Management:
Principles and Practices, 2nd Edition

By Lee A. Esckilsen, CFE, Johnson & Wales University, Providence, RI; Frank E. Russo, Jr., CFE, Global Spectrum, Hartford, CT; and Robert J. Stewart, CFE, Johnson & Wales University, Providence, RI

Now in its second edition, Public Assembly Facility Management: Principles and Practices is a college textbook and reference book for facility managers. The book covers management practices and principles used by managers in public assembly facilities such as arenas, stadiums, convention centers, performing arts venues, and amphitheatres.

The book was developed by IAAM by the Body of Knowledge Task Force (BOK), which was created in 1999 for the purpose of documenting "core competencies" for public assembly facility management. Funded by the IAAM Foundation, the BOK then took the "core competencies" to the next level as a textbook outline. The outline was also used to create a template for a master’s degree in public assembly facility management. The first edition of the textbook, published in 2004, has been adopted for classroom use by 55 colleges and universities in degree programs such as sport management, hospitality management, meetings and conventions management, performing arts management, parks and recreation, and hotel administration.

The Second Edition has been updated and expanded to include the latest data and information on venue management practices. The book includes numerous figures and appendices, a glossary of terms, and an index. Hardbound, approx. 380 pages.
